GEISHA, A LIFE by Mineko Iwasaki

American author Arthur Golden has published a book Memoirs of a Geisha in 1997. He conducted a lot of interviews of retired geishas (including Mineko, which basically formed a story for his book.

When his book came out, Mineko was shocked how he had twisted ger words, so as a reply to him, she decided to write her own book and share a real world of Geishas.

In general I really liked the book and I learned a lot of new things I didn't know before. I also liked how Mineko was honest and didn't hide how she felt during her time in Gion. I also liked her characters and some pages of her book made me laugh.

What about you guys? Have you read at least one book about Geishas?
